Why I’m No Longer at Willow Creek Middle School in Rochester, MN

Change is never easy. Sometimes it’s exciting, but other times, especially when the change is unexpected, it can be exceptionally difficult.

Recently, the decision was made to part ways with Willow Creek Middle School. While I can’t share all the specifics, I want to be transparent with those of you who’ve supported me throughout my journey.

Please know that I still hold my teaching license and can teach in any district nationwide. I was never escorted out of the building and allowed three hours to clean out my classroom on Monday, and an hour on Friday to finish gathering my belongings without supervision.

Leaving a place where I’ve dedicated so much of my energy and passion has been one of the most challenging experiences of my life. The relationships I’ve built with students, colleagues, and the community have meant the world to me, and it’s bittersweet to say goodbye.

Despite the rough transition, I choose to look forward with optimism. Every ending creates room for new beginnings, and my passion for education, student growth, and developing meaningful content remains stronger than ever.

In the coming months, I plan to focus on exciting projects that have been on the back burner, explore new teaching opportunities, and find creative ways to continue supporting students and educators. I’m grateful for everything I’ve learned, and I’m taking those lessons with me into this next chapter.

Thank you for your understanding and continued support. There’s much more to come, and I can’t wait to share it with you.
